3D Systems Corp. will develop specialty materials and composites with Trial Corp of Kanagawa, Japan.
The products will be used in selective laser sintering, a manufacturing technique that uses a laser to fuse particles of plastic, metal or ceramic powders into a three-dimensional object.
Financial terms of the agreement weren't disclosed.
Trial specializes in creating materials used in the biomedical, electronics and engineering industries.
Rock Hill-based 3D Systems plans to distribute the products the companies' develop worldwide.
